Feeling, exploring, growing: the baby.Living approach for a child’s first years of life

When babies come into the world, a plethora of possibilities opens up with them: discoveries, perceptions, sensations, and experiences that mark the beginning of a unique journey. It is in this sensitive territory, where everything is still being inaugurated, that the baby.Living project is born, a proposal in which we invite families and babies to live, together, the adventure of development in the child’s first years of life.

More than just an activity space, baby.Living is a carefully prepared environment designed to welcome the beginning of this journey with respect, attentiveness, and presence. Aimed at babies from 6 months to 2 years of age, the project offers experiences mediated by a specialized pedagogical team, always with the participation of a reference adult, that is, someone from the child’s daily life, such as the mother, father, grandmother, or caregiver. This presence is not just a detail: it is an essential part of the experience, offering the baby the emotional security needed to explore a universe of new things.

Experiences happen along two main axes: art and the body. In the experience “The Art of Feeling,” babies are invited to explore the world through art and sensory exploration. Textures, sounds, colors, and movements become pathways for the child to discover themselves and the environment around them. It is a space of freedom, where creating, experimenting, deconstructing, and starting over are part of the process. Adults and babies share this journey, in a relationship of mutual discovery, mediated by educators who act as attentive and affectionate allies.

Already in “Life in Motion,” the proposal is based on psychomotricity to integrate babies’ cognitive, affective, and motor development. Through songs, play, and bodily exploration, children are encouraged to move, experiment, and express themselves, always respecting their own pace and individuality. The experience takes place in a welcoming and calm atmosphere that promotes well-being and safety, which are essential at this stage of life.

The benefits of these experiences are broad and profound. From a physical standpoint, they contribute to improved blood circulation, sleep, and appetite, in addition to strengthening muscle tone and stimulating the sensory pathways. In the field of development, they promote the development of psychomotor skills, broaden attention and perception, and stimulate the capacity for assimilation and learning. At the same time, even in contexts without direct play interactions, babies begin to notice the presence of others, initiating their first socialization movements.

All of this happens during a particularly powerful stage of life: early childhood, a period in which the brain exhibits very high plasticity and intensely forms new neural connections. It is during this stage, especially between 0 and 2 years of age, that meaningful experiences have a direct impact on the way a child will learn, relate, and develop throughout life. Every stimulus received builds pathways, and caring for those stimuli makes all the difference in the course of development.

In this sense, baby.Living emerges as an opportunity to expand babies’ range of experiences beyond the home environment, offering experiences that are often not possible in everyday life at home, whether due to lack of space or lack of specific guidance. At the same time, it invites adults to be fully present, in body, gaze, and affection, in time dedicated exclusively to the child.

This encounter between baby and adult is perhaps one of the most valuable aspects of the project. Amid activities, subtle and profound exchanges are built: a sustained gaze, a gesture of welcome, an embrace after a small frustration. It is in these moments that the baby begins to understand the world, first through sensation and then through perception, and to form the foundations of their emotional security.

By strengthening this bond, baby.Living acts not only in the present, but also in the future. The experiences lived there reverberate in the development of more balanced children, with better-developed motor, social-emotional, and language skills. And, further on, in the development of more empathetic, confident, and aware adults.

In a time when childhood is often marked by haste, baby.Living proposes the opposite: an invitation to pause, be present, and connect. A space where growing is, above all, feeling, exploring, and relating to the world and to others, from the very beginning.
