Education That Celebrates Childhood
We view children as unique and capable individuals with a profound desire and capacity to explore and learn. We believe they should be seen, heard, and have their rights protected. This thoughtful and sensitive perspective, which recognizes childhood as a foundational stage of human existence, is rooted in a relatively recent historical construct.

Our early childhood education project is based on the premise that children are individuals with unique cultural and social backgrounds, developing autonomy, and the capacity to inquire about themselves and the world around them.

At the same time, each child brings a unique set of experiences and skills to the educational setting, shaped by their individual backgrounds and circumstances. By staying attentive and open to what students bring to us each day, we collaborate with them to organize a series of challenges and pathways for cognitive and emotional growth. This approach supports their holistic development and allows their potential to flourish.
Our Space
Each environment is designed and built as an educational space. These are places of power, creation, exploration, and research, where our educators conceive activities and situations aimed at offering welcoming, challenging, and inspiring experiences that will culminate in meaningful learning for our students.
Both our Early Childhood Education and Elementary School programs feature outdoor areas that immerse students in the natural world. We believe that reconnecting with nature is essential for human development and learning, and our outdoor spaces facilitate this connection.

Bilingualism
Bilingual education transcends English as a second language learning. Unlike learning English, our students learn in English. Learning unfolds through a variety of carefully designed experiences that immerse students in everyday life using English. It takes place during school curriculum activities, in relationships, through forms of expression and logical reasoning, and in engaging with physical movement and the arts.
This meaningful immersion in the English language, which begins in Kindergarten and deepens with the study of language in its oral and written dimensions in Elementary School, provides students with a valuable foundation in the language. By experiencing the social function of language, students achieve effective learning outcomes while simultaneously broadening their worldview and expanding their potential for knowledge acquisition.

Sustainability
When we ask ourselves what kind of world we want for our children’s future, we believe this cannot be just a rhetorical question—it must be a call to action, shaping the world through both small and significant experiences.
That’s why sustainability is a core principle of be.Living’s Pedagogical Political Project, embedded in both our educational practices and school management.
Through diverse experiences and hands-on learning, we aim to provide an education that fosters critical, imersive, and meaningful sustainability. Our goal is to make the school a space where conscious relationships with the community and the environment are nurtured daily, not just in theory but in action.

Joining the Schools for Climate Movement

Destino Certo Campaign (Recycling)
be.Living has been awarded Level 5 of the Schools for the Climate label—the highest distinction in the movement—recognizing institutions committed to sustainability.

As a school with sustainability at its core, we embrace our responsibility to take action in the face of the climate crisis. Since 2019, we have implemented Meatless Monday, encouraging children, families, and staff to reflect on the environmental impact of food choices. Additionally, we continuously invest in the professional development of our educators, equipping them with scientific knowledge and the autonomy to integrate sustainability into all school projects and initiatives.

In both 2023 and 2024, be.Living educators were honored with the Project Award for Sustainability from the Schools for Climate Movement Awards. The Schools for Climate Movement is the largest network of schools in Brazil dedicated to education and climate action. It provides training for schools and students to tackle the challenges of climate change while also certifying institutions based on their progress and commitment to sustainability.

Food
Food plays an integral role in our educational approach, helping children develop a mindful and healthy relationship with what they eat. Childhood is a time of discovery, where senses, flavors, and memories intertwine, creating connections that can last a lifetime. At school, lunches and snacks are more than just meals—they are moments of sharing, where children learn to be mindful of what they consume and understand food as a source of well-being for both body and soul.

We strive to balance healthy eating with food acceptance, fostering an ongoing dialogue with children.

Sample Menus
Our nutritionist designs balanced menus featuring fresh ingredients, avoiding fried foods and processed meats. Children actively participate in tastings and nutrition discussions. Initiatives like incorporating organic ingredients, implementing Meatless Mondays, and reducing processed foods are carefully considered and adapted to support children’s well-being and development.
Understanding and respecting families’ preferences, we also offer an exclusive vegetarian menu. We ensure every child receives a complete and balanced diet prepared with the same care and dedication.
Below are some examples of the daily meals and snacks served at be.Living.

Close Relationship with Families
A key aspect of the be.Living education project is the close relationship with families. We are confident that an ongoing dialogue between the school and the families and the active involvement of the families in school processes enhances the educational and formative experience of our students.
We endeavor to maintain an open and honest dialogue with families, respecting their input and differences while fostering the growth of each child.
As an educational institution, we recognize that this collaborative process allows us to continuously improve our practices.

Based on these principles, this close relationship is built day by day through a variety of activities, including collective and individual meetings, the monitoring of educational productions, participation in school events, and ongoing dialogue with our team of educators.

Our Educators
A school is the ideal setting for learning and development. It’s a learning environment that is centered on the knowledge produced by humanity, knowledge of others, and knowledge of oneself, and a place for cognitive and civic education. And as a setting for learning and development, we believe that all members of the school community should be involved in the educational processes.

At be.Living, we have a long-standing commitment to viewing teachers as learners and researchers, continuously developing their expertise in the field of education. For this reason, we seek to create conditions and processes so that the entire educational team can carry out its work consistently and guided by our Pedagogical Political Project.

Training meeting with Claudio Thebas
With this aim, we carry out periodic training with teachers, through individual and collective meetings that broaden the perspective on the daily life of each class, generating new dialogues and perspectives on teaching practices. As part of this concept, we also regularly hold the Olhares Congress, in which we deepen our discussions through presentations and debates that focus on the main themes and projects of each segment.

Discover our History
be.Living was born in 2000 with a single child and a powerful vision: to create a nurturing environment where young children can live and learn, surrounded by love, respect, and cooperation. From the very beginning, we have embraced an educational philosophy that recognizes each individual as a unique, creative, and autonomous being, capable of seeking knowledge and overcoming challenges.
Our mission is to shape responsible and conscientious individuals, guided by values and principles that enrich their own lives and the lives of those around them. On this journey toward a better world, we remain firmly committed to our ideals, always believing that, first and foremost, education is an act of love.
