To the sound of “Isso Aqui Tá Bom Demais” (“It’s So Good Here”), children from be.Living’s Early Childhood and Elementary programs come together in a joyful parade, dancing, singing, and inviting the entire school community to celebrate the richness of Brazilian folk culture. Surrounded by colorful flags, traditional games, delicious food, and plenty of music, the 2026 edition of our much-anticipated Festa Junina immerses participants in the world of the Brazilian countryside, the Northeast region, and the work of one of Brazil’s greatest musicians: Dominguinhos.
As it does every year, the festival grows out of a pedagogical journey that connects children with the masters of Brazilian culture. This time, the honored artist is the singer, songwriter, and accordion player who carried forward the legacy of Luiz Gonzaga and helped bring Northeastern Brazilian music to new horizons.
“Dominguinhos inherited the rich accordion tradition of Brazilian music, but he was also an innovator who engaged with jazz, MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), and many other musical influences. He knew how to combine tradition and creativity in a truly unique way,” explains Amanda Ribeiro, music teacher at be.Living.
Throughout the first semester, children in Early Childhood and Elementary School explored the artist’s life and work while participating in experiences connected to Brazilian folk traditions. Cirandas, coco, cavalo-marinho, bumba meu boi, quadrilha dances, and other cultural expressions will be presented by the students, accompanied by Dominguinhos’ songs such as “Sabiá” and “Abri a Porta,” among others.
This year’s festival theme comes from one of his most beloved songs: “Isso Aqui Tá Bom Demais!” According to Amanda, the theme celebrates cherished memories, community, music, dance, and the customs that shape Brazilian cultural identity. “The theme invites children and families to celebrate simplicity, joy, and a sense of cultural belonging through meaningful and collective experiences,” she says.
Families have always played an active role in creating this special event. This year, each family received an embroidery hoop to decorate freely, incorporating memories, traditions, and elements inspired by the festival’s theme. These pieces will become part of a collective exhibition on the day of the event, transforming the décor into a large tapestry of affection, creativity, and identity.
More than a celebration, be.Living’s Festa Junina remains an encounter with Brazilian culture, an opportunity to learn, share stories, and recognize the beauty of the traditions that help shape who we are.
