The event that occurred in Rio Grande do Sul is a sign that the climate emergency and the impacts of global warming are not a matter of the future, but a matter of the present.
We are witnessing – here and now – something that has been discussed and announced for a long time by scientific authorities and environmentalists.
The impacts of global warming are happening and being felt, with increasing frequency and intensity, in various places around the world.
We understand that this is a call for the urgency of action.
As a school, we will continue our work on climate and scientific literacy so that our children and community understand what is happening to our planet, embracing their feelings in a way that these can become generative actions.
We continue to provide experiences of sustainable practices – such as the horta, compostagem, Meatless Monday, and avoiding food waste, among other actions that permeate the curriculum and the daily lives of the children, promoting a more conscious way of living while simultaneously reducing the environmental impact of our school.
When we ask ourselves what kind of world we want for our children, we understand that this cannot be a merely theoretical question, but that this world must be actively built through the small and large experiences that children have in their school life.
Thus, be.Living continues to be a center for dialogue, climate education, and action. We thank the families and the entire be.Living community for the donations made to Rio Grande do Sul, demonstrating solidarity and showing the strength of the collective.
